“Don’t think or judge, just listen.”

I’m sitting underneath my warm duvet scrolling through Tumblr, enjoying the last hours of my weekend with a cup of tea and a cookie. The great thing about Tumblr is the amount of inspiration and pretty pictures gathered in this amazing virtual universe of greatness and I have to admit, that I quite often get my inspiration from this site; whether it’s life advice, home inspiration or ideas to photo-projects doesn’t matter, inspiration is inspiration and there’s a whole damn lot of it on Tumblr.

As I scrolled through a few minutes ago, I found the above quote, which made me think about people in general; we all want to be heard, but we don’t always want to listen. Not that I’m any better than anyone else, I’ve found myself mentally drifting away in the middle of an conversations dusins of times,  thinking about anything but the conversation. I’ve caught myself in mentally preparing for not even trying to listen to people because of my presumptions about what they’re trying to tell me – and I know that neither of these things isn’t very nice, but I keep telling myself that it’s okay not to ‘feel like listening’ – and yes, sometimes it is I guess. But on the other hand; what if you could make someones day better by just simply truthfully listening? Or what if you could even make your own day better?

I think we’ve all met an elderly person pouring out their whole life story to you, simply just because you’re standing next to them in the line or the person who stops you at the street to tell/ask you what-ever – next time, just give it a chance. Sometimes the best stories is the stories which haven’t been heard yet. (Think about Forrest Gump for an example)

You are one of the few bloggers whose photography actually makes me THINK of the story you are trying to convey to readers.
