I always spent quite a lot of time googleing cheap plane-tickets, stunning wandering-routes, countries to visit, cities to experience and places to see. I day-dream about a life where I’m constantly moving, constantly experiencing, constantly travelling. My inner wanderlust was slowly beginning to show it’s adventurous spirit and this made me feel kind of restless,  I talked to m and convinced him to go hiking with me.
We spent the first couple days of our spring break hiking among the narrow forest paths of the Swedish woods. I’m not saying the trip was perfect and “just as I expected”, cause it wasn’t. To begin with, we ended up going home after only two whole days, when in reality we’ve planned to stay for four days. The nights were cold and dark, and the first day it was raining. Normally I don’t mind a bit of rain, it can be very refreshing, but we were tired and exhausted from walking and I was kind of freezing. m had brought his fishing gear, and as the fisherman he is the weather didn’t keep him from trying to catch us something, without any luck though. – The trip wasn’t all bad either, it was nice to finally get a bit away from the busyness and rush of the everyday life, and it was wonderful to be with m. As long as we’re together I never really feel lost, I’m always a bit warmer and a bit better when with him. The trip had it’s moments; sitting by the fire looking into the dancing flames, tiredly lying by the side of the road with a sad can of tuna – living completely in the moment, spontaneous kisses in the woods and tender kisses in the tent, laughter and golden sunlight.

As Robert Louis Stevenson once said:  “It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men’s hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.”
